Welcome to Matt Hollingsworth's website!

I'm an American commercial artist who's worked primarily in comics as a color artist. I've worked for Marvel Comics, DC Comics, Vertigo, Dark Horse Comics, ONI Press, Wildstorm Comics, Top Cow Productions, Aspen Entertainment and others. I've worked on such books as Preacher, Hellboy, Hellblazer, Daredevil, The Amazing Spider-Man, Death, The Filth, Gotham Central, Catwoman, Tom Strong, Alias, The Eternals, The Immortal Iron Fist, Thor, Batman, The Flash, Green Lantern, Punisher and others.

For two years I worked on visual effects for feature film, working for Stan Winston Digital, Rhythm and Hues Studios and Sony Pictures Imageworks. I worked on a total of seven films in those two years: Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, Elektra, Serenity, The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, Fantastic Four, Superman Returns and my personal favorite, Surf's Up.

I currently live in Samobor, Croatia with my two cats and lovely wife.

Comics

I color comics. In a nutshell, someone else did these drawings, then I painted them. In the Comics section above, you'll see a Digital Painting submenu. In there you'll see Photoshop painting. I started using Photoshop in 1996 and soon after switched 100% to digital. Before that, I had done hand painted colors. Some of these were "color guides", some were fully painted bluelines. Look in the Painted Color section for more of that stuff. For now the site does not have any blueline painted colors, but they'll be added at some point in the future.
